Jobs

Camirus is currently looking for a research analyst to work with us on a number of projects around the UK and Ireland. The role is home-based but a base in the West Midlands or Northern Ireland will be an advantage.

This is a six-month fixed-term contract with an established and well-regarded consultancy and is a potential stepping stone to many interesting careers in the low carbon energy, innovation, consultancy, policy or industrial decarbonisation sectors. Camirus has an excellent track record of developing analysts and many have gone on to successful careers with major companies after completing their time with us.

Some background in economics, physical sciences, engineering or policy and understanding of the energy sector is highly desirable but not absolutely essential. More important is demonstrable aptitude in research, thoroughness and ability to summarise complex information succinctly for others.

You should be comfortable writing good business English, be numerate and able quickly to identify key issues.

Typical tasks might include;

  • review and collation of research reports and keeping abreast of developments in topics such as hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, carbon measurement and accounting;
  • research into best practices, often internationally;
  • review of market regulations;
  • review and response to policy consultations;
  • understanding new business models;
  • liaison with project partners and stakeholders;
  • attending industry events and representing the company;
  • production of material for websites and supporting marketing activity;
  • supporting the director, particularly in production of final reports.

The role offers a competitive salary (typically £30-36k p.a. depending on experience). Candidates should be logical and analytical.

The role will potentially suit a recent graduate, but we always welcome applicants with diverse experiences and skills. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality work to a deadline and work well in diverse teams and with clients: we work almost exclusively in partnership with others.

You will need to have access to a reliable internet connection. Travel, including to Ireland, is periodically required as well as virtual meetings most days. A base location in the West Midlands or Northern Ireland is preferred as this will be closest to other team members.

Camirus is an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from all backgrounds. You must have permission to work in the UK.

Please email enquiries@camirus.co.uk with a CV and brief letter of application to apply. The closing date for receipt of applications is 3 June 2024 although we reserve the right to appoint sooner.
